30DC Meetups – With the official challenge drawing to a close, make sure you check in on where meetups are happening in your area. Keeping in touch with people doing the same thing you are is enormously beneficial.
Time to watch today’s videos: Approximately 26 minutes.
Additional time to complete today’s action steps: This could be and should be an ongoing process – you may spend 10-30 minutes researching additional keywords. You could spend 30 to 60 minutes or more working on additional content. And it’s something you should probably do on at least a weekly basis…The idea is to increase the reach and exposure of your blog, which will increase its value as a byproduct.

Use Market Samurai to find more “long-tail” keyword phrases with good traffic and competition numbers. You may also find additional keywords from your Google Analytics reports.
Organize and categorize your keywords so you can use the auto content and manual post features of WordPressDirect to create content related to each of your key phrases. Ed shows us how to use the auto content side of WordPressDirect with the proper methodology.
Time to watch today’s videos: Approximately 26 minutes.
Additional time to complete today’s action steps: If you’re doing this for the first time – allow 30 to 60 minutes. You maybe able to get through it quicker than that. I kept getting interrupted…

What do you do if it’s not working? Was is all wasted effort? Nope – there are other ways to make money from your website. You’re not limited to selling affiliate products.
Probably the simplest way to earn money from your blog is with Google Adsense. GuruBob takes us through the process. It will help to make sure your WordPressDirect theme is Adsense ready.
There are other possibilities as well – using other Ad Networks, CPA (cost per action) Networks, etc. You could even sell your site. Another handy PDF file is available for download at: 2008TDC26_Ads_CPA

Time to watch today’s videos: Approximately 46 minutes, if you include the podcast.
Additional time to complete today’s action steps: You could spend some time exploring the auto-posting feature available through WordPressDirect – maybe another 30 to 60 minutes. Make sure you listen to the podcast and get the notes – there are some real nuggets in there…
Thirty Day Challenge Transcripts and Training are available below each video. Today, there is also a podcast – with a PDF transcript available for download.
Ummm…okay – I know this video mentions more ways to manage our PPC accounts – but I think we pretty much covered it over the past three lessons. I mean, there’s more we can do with Google Adwords, but it’s beyond the scope of the thirty day challenge. The next video is about WordPressDirect and the podcast is more of an overview of the methodology of the Thirty Day Challenge.
Time to watch today’s videos: Approximately 22 minutes.
Additional time to complete today’s action steps: In general, I have to allow myself 1-2 hours to research and write a post. Allow another 30-60 minutes to familiarize yourself with the Ezine Article guidelines.

Time to watch today’s videos: Approximately 25 minutes.
Additional time to complete today’s action steps: If you have all your “ducks in a row,” creating a Squidoo lens goes pretty quick. Now, by “ducks in a row,” – I mean, keyword phrases chosen, 2 or 3 – 300 to 500 word pieces of content pre-written, etc.
If you have that already done that you could put a Squidoo lens up in a matter of minutes. Considering this may be your first time, allow yourself 15 – 30 minutes to get used to the interface.
As to finding more content, well – that’s something you can spend a lot of time on. I guess I’d say allow yourself an additional 30 to 60 minutes to do some research. You’ll need more content in the days to come.

Use your main keyword phrase as the title of your Squidoo lens (or get as close as you can.) When you get to Step 4, make sure you use your category keywords (the other keywords you’re using for categories in your wordpressdirect blog). Use them in the section where it says “And 3 more good ones are:”
Time to watch today’s videos: Approximately 64 minutes
Additional time to complete today’s action steps: Better plan on an additional 2-4 hours, at least if this is your first time through the process of registering a domain, setting up hosting, blog installation, posting content and adding an affiliate link. Once you’ve done this a few times, it will go faster…
Thirty Day Challenge Transcripts and Training are available below each video.
First things first – you’ll have to decide if you’re going to purchase your own domain name – or use a subdomain available through WordPressDirect. There’s no one right answer to this.
If you have the means – it is better to buy your own domain. If you’re not sure about the market and you just want to test it – you can use a subdomain for that purpose.
If it works (and you’re making a little bit of money) then by all means – get your own domain and hosting and set up another blog – there are ways to leverage multiple blogs and platforms to build backlinks. I’m sure we’ll cover some additional strategies further in the Thirty Day Challenge.
One place you can get hosting for your website is HostGator. This is an affiliate link for the Thirty Day Challenge – proceeds go to help defray the costs of putting this on each year.
This blog is structured around the YouTube videos, but there are higher definition videos available for download on the thirty day challenge training pages. The cost of that bandwidth alone is huge, and this affiliate link helps cover some of those costs.
Using HostGator is optional, you can use a subdomain from WordPressDirect as part of your free trial – so it is possible to complete the thirty day challenge without spending any extra money.
If you’ve been able to keep up, you should already have your keyword, a product to promote, and some content ready to publish. Go ahead and add your first post to your blog – and add your affiliate offer (both image and text) to your blog sidebar.
